Guys if anyone will be spending any money other than the venue hire + ticket printing, please let me know here and I can put it in. Do we have a figure for what we're paying the band as yet? So far i've got printing and venue hire.
Anyone need money for anything else?

Hey Guys
SO i finally created my gmail account im now a proud user :)
I have been speaking to a couple of friends of mine about donating auction items. A good friend of mine owns a frozen yoghurt shop down in bondi called Smooch and she was happy to donate some smooches on the day as a nice thing to have. I think this would just be great and a nice thing to have why not if its for free?
Let me know and I can then verify with her.
Also about the band, I think its a great idea but if we need to spend money on flights and accommodation for them, it could be costly and something we dont have. Perhaps we can find a local band I even know some people that might be willing to play for us.
Secondly, the venue is a major issue and so we need to try and crack down and find a place. I am a bit skeptical on the round house, as we are trying to target new business entrepreneurs and I dont think many uni students would have an established business.
Perhaps we need to brain storm where we could hold the event and try and make some contacts this week.
Let me know what you guys think

Sorry for my absence I do not have internet hooked up in my apartment yet so have to come down to school to check the blog. I think the mcdonalds application is worth a shot and I am happy to fill it out and get it over to you. also, mark the band sounds awesome if we can secure it i think we should-- no harm in asking! I will work on securing auctions items early this week and hopefully get some local interest in randwick/coogee. as far as venue from here on out...are we now thinking of approaching another bar downtown? or the roundhouse. the only this is in our concept we targeted the young professional audience and we will not find that on campus. Anything else i can help with please let me know---should I cold call some venues?
Hope everyone had a great weekend, see you tomoz.

The Belligerents
Hey guys!
So, I just realised that my housemate's brother is in a famous Aussie band called The Belligerents. And she said they would most likely agree to play at our party. Cool! All we would have to do is get them down here from Brisbane. And maybe accommodation as well. Not sure but we can work that all out later. Anyway, I just wanted to run it by you all to get the approval before I get her to ask her brother.
Here is their video clip. They play cool electro-ish indie pop. It's good.

pure gelato fundraising packages
Hi guys I came across an interesting site of 'Pure Gelato'. They have 3 fundraising packages namely gelato fun, gelato run and gelato one. Since our event is a sunday afternoon garden party, I thought we can make use of this. I think 'gelato run' will be more apt for us. Let me know what you feel about this. Assignment due this week
Hey guys,
So I haven't heard back with information yet from Slip Inn. Since the assignment is about concept of the event as opposed to the specifics of it (such as location), we should be fine just moving ahead talking about the idea of the garden party ("Slip into Spring")with silent auction etc. which seemed to be the concept we wanted to move forward with? We just need to choose something at this point, and I'd rather get this assignment over with earlier than later.
I have no problem drafting the document and then getting feedback from everyone. I think at this point it just needs to get done. And hopefully by this afternoon I will have more information about Slip.
